11 January 2022

Welcome to 2022

Welcome back to all our Scouts and parents. We trust that you all had a pleasant festive season and a good rest after a hectic 2021.

We are looking forward to an amazing year for 2022 and we hope that you are all looking forward to an exciting year ahead as well as we have many things planned.

We also wish to welcome all our Scouters back and we are all looking forward to making this year as exciting for the scouts as much as possible and getting all those advancements done.

Scouter Updates

The last 2 years has been a very challenging time for Scouts and Scouters alike and with the lifting of many of the lockdown regulations we will most certainly be doing a lot more Out and About in scouting with plenty of hikes, camps and district events happening this coming year. Please keep a close eye on our newsletters and dates for all our upcoming events.

Friday Meeting

There will be a Full Uniform Scouts Meeting this Friday 14 January at the Hall.

Please ensure that you all bring along your camp uniform as well to change into after our opening parade as we will begin with a small change in patrols as well as beginning to sort out our Scout dens and camping equipment.

Past Events

Senior Scout Adventure Magaliesberg

Our Senior Scouts attended the Senior Scouts Adventure Magaliesberg from the 5th to the 9th of January and fun was had by all. please have a look at the pictures on Instagram.

Saturday 15 January

Please note that we request the Scouts to be at the hall from 10am on Saturday morning for the den cleanup. After 2 years we are finally allowed to get back to our patrol dens and they all need a major cleanup.

Saturday 29 January

Signing off day – our Scouters and PL’s will be available to sign the scouts off on any advancements that they have done over the holidays and during October and November last year. Please note that this is only for signing off and not any training. you must make a booking for this to happen as we do not want to be sitting at the hall and nobody shows up.

Covid Screening

Covid regulations require that we screen everyone visiting the Scout Hall and keep a register. We are using goScan to facillitate this process.
From your mobile device please scan the QR code at the hall and complete the questions.
Or complete the scan at home using http://s.goscan.co.za/DDPpa (please do shortly before arriving so that your time reflects when you were present)
Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing.

Equipment labelling

Please clearly label all personal belongings. Check that the labels have not faded or fallen off.

Scouts Digital

Parents are encouraged to regularly login into Scouts Digital and view the Parents Dashboard. Login via http://www.scouts.digital/ > Actions > Login. If you are unable to login please contact either Akela for cubs or Bobcat for Scouts and they will get help for you. Some attendance records or personal information may not be correct – please let us know. Together we can make Scouts Digital the enabling system it is designed to be!
