Cubs (ages 7-10) follow the Cub trail where they learn new skills, play games, complete creative crafts, enjoy fun camps and community projects. Along their journey they make new friends and acquire a number of badges.
Following on from the story of the adventures of Mowgli and his animal friends in Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book”, the adult in charge of the Cub Pack is called Akela which, in the book, is the name of the leader of the wolf pack. We call this person the Pack Scouter.
Cubs have their own Promise and Law:
The Cub Promise
I promise to do my best:
To do my duty to God and my country;
To keep the law of the Wolf Cub Pack;
and to do a good turn to somebody every day.
The Cub Law
The Cub gives in to the Old Wolf; the Cub does not give in to himself/herself.
